Apple faces lawsuit over storage space on iPhones and iPads

The article focuses of the Apple storage and misrepresentation of the amount of storage given with each iPhone due to the mass amount of storage taken up by the iOS 8 update. Two individuals from Miami Paul Orshan and Christopher Endara have brought a lawsuit, who claim they have bought iPhone and iPads in the last year advertised with 16 GB however when bought found that 23.1 % of the storage is taken up by the update

- For the devices, the shortfall ranges from 18.1-23.1%.
- The pair, who hope to turn the complaint into a class action, are seeking $5m (£3.3m) in damages and a trial by jury.
- Each gigabyte of storage Apple shortchanges its customers amounts to approximately 400-500 high-resolution photographs.

The company should create additional storage specifically for the updates and should keep it separate from the amount shown so the 16 GB is available and extra storage is available for the updates that cant be accessed for personal use.
