Google hits back at News Corp’s claims that it is a platform for piracy



Rachel Whetstone, the former adviser to Conservative leader Michael Howard who is now Google’s senior vice president global communications replied to the open letter sent by the chief executive of News Cooperation Stating the "Google has done more than almost any other company to help tackle online piracy," she also said that last year Google removed 222m web pages that broke copyright rules. the reply to the letter hit back many of the false accusation made by Robert Thomson Whetstone continued to say,"It’s well documented that the highest-profile change to our search ranking, called ‘Panda’, actually reduced our advertising revenue," when Thomson claimed that Google of fiddling with its search algorithm to maximise its own revenues and “punish” small companies.

Google is also an industry leader in combating child sexual abuse

- Websites that regularly violate copyright regulations are “downgraded” in its search rankings

Google makes more than 500 changes a year to its algorithms

Google no matter what they claim is the biggest search engine in the world and are the gatekeeper to the internet statistics show that the most used internet programme used is Google Chrome which is one form of gate keeping and its a well know fact the the majority uses Googles search engine than any other competitor.
