iPhone 6 and 6 plus bending fears 'seem overblown'

this article talks about the bending issues with the iPhone 6 and 6 plus and ststed that these problem aren't as big as they seem and apple shouldn't be called out for it as as non-profit study showed that other phone also released this year bend as well under roughly the same pressure. However it did state that the previous phone were definitely stronger than these phone and makes sense that they are bending as smartphones become thinner and longer with bigger screens, their relative strength decreases while the force applied to them inside pockets can increase due to a lever effect.

- The 4.7in iPhone 6, which is 7.1mm thick, would show permanent bending with the equivalent of a 70lb (31.8kg) weight placed on the centre of its back

The 5.5in iPhone 6 Plus deformed at 90lbs, and the 4in iPhone 5 - which is 7.6mm thick - at 130lbs.

The 5in HTC One M8 also bends under a 70lbs weight, and its case separated at 90lb, while the iPhone 6 resisted to 100lb.

The 5.5in LG G3 resisted bending up to 130lbs, the same as the iPhone 5, and the 5.7in Samsung Galaxy Note 3 150lbs.

The phone is going to bend because the phone are getting thinner and bigger it's commonsense but i think the the design of some of the phone could be improved as the back casing to the phone instead of using aluminum which is malleable use titanium which would provide a stronger structure and the heating the phone wouldn't be a issue because of its high melting point.

Google hits back at News Corp’s claims that it is a platform for piracy

Rachel Whetstone, the former adviser to Conservative leader Michael Howard who is now Google’s senior vice president global communications replied to the open letter sent by the chief executive of News Cooperation Stating the "Google has done more than almost any other company to help tackle online piracy," she also said that last year Google removed 222m web pages that broke copyright rules. the reply to the letter hit back many of the false accusation made by Robert Thomson Whetstone continued to say,"It’s well documented that the highest-profile change to our search ranking, called ‘Panda’, actually reduced our advertising revenue," when Thomson claimed that Google of fiddling with its search algorithm to maximise its own revenues and “punish” small companies.

Google is also an industry leader in combating child sexual abuse

- Websites that regularly violate copyright regulations are “downgraded” in its search rankings

Google makes more than 500 changes a year to its algorithms

Google no matter what they claim is the biggest search engine in the world and are the gatekeeper to the internet statistics show that the most used internet programme used is Google Chrome which is one form of gate keeping and its a well know fact the the majority uses Googles search engine than any other competitor.

Twitter to target film advertising to users tweeting about related movies

This article talks about a new method of advertising on Twitter. It was called a big influence of movies, as people review and makes choice on twitter about films and even find out about new films on twitter. So twitter like Goggle is introducing AdWords a system that recognises film industry related words including mass corporations like marvel and advertise anything related to thee word they have tweeted such as other superhero genre related film and other marvel film

Twitter is a major influence on movie choice

Twitter is trying to capitalise on that massive global conversation, by feeding relevant advertising to the people talking about certain films

- Long used by Google via its AdWords technology, is being rolled out across social networks

The use of the technology is great and is a potential money making scheme for twitter which will allow it to grow larger as a company. This is an example of Pareto's Law stating that 20 percent controls the other 80, Twitter is discreetly influencing people to watch certain film that they know they would like i a sense controlling what they do however the 2 step flow model works it way in to this stating that they pick and choose.

Donald Trump retweets serial killer photo in comedian's Twitter prank

This article was about a recent prank on twitter carried out by a user. The prankster tweeted "Hi @realDonaldTrump. My parents who passed away always said you were big inspiration. Can you pls RT for their memory?" and Trump being known for retweeting charity appeals etcetera he happily done so for this follower. The twist to this sweet action is the picture attacht with the message was of Notorious British serial Killers Fred and Rose West.

- Donald Trump was Duped on Monday

- Twitter user’s account was named @feckhead.

- Fred and Rose West as Notorious British serial killers

The fact that being such an intellectual persona in higher class we would assume he knows of news around the world and the fact the he retweeted this not  knowing who they were is actually quite funny. However it's a possibility that he didn't look at the image and just went ahead and retweeted it for the satisfaction of the follower, just to make him happy.

Learner Response: (Intro)

In this day and age there have been many development in new digital media which have both empowered and weakened the audience one example of this is Google and this works for both sides of the arguments. The audience have been empowered to a large extent by these developments as they have been given a larger variety of media forms to pick and choose from as they please, however there are also a lot of reasons that the audiences are weakened pointed out by theorist Andrew Keen,"the internet is killing our culture". an example of this is UGC as the content when posted is posted to a company like twitter which then own the comment.

Google: US government demands for user data have risen 250% since 2009

The article talks about the US Governments demand of users data and its increase in the last 5 years. the author Domonic Rushe write that President Obama asked congress to rein the bulk collection of information from US citizens in January. Google legal director Richard Salgado wrote in a blogpost. “Despite these revelations, we have seen some countries expand their surveillance authorities in an attempt to reach service providers outside their borders. Others are considering similar measures.”

- In the first half of 2014, the number of government demands rose 15% compared to the second half of last year, and a 150% increase since Google first began publishing this data in 2009.

- Google’s users have risen 150% since the tech giant first started publishing their numbers.

- Between July and December 2013 Google received between 0 and 999 requests under FISA and the same under NSL.

In my opinion the government should be able to track data from Google users as it help them observe any potential terrorists or in fact any criminal activity. Which allows them to act upon or start investigation leading on to other leads that may be important to relating investigations. However, to an extent - they should only look at information that isn't disclosed, information that requires invasion of privacy should be disbarred.

Innocence of Muslims actor sues Google to block controversial film

This article follows up a court case against Google by an actor from controversial film 'Innocence of Muslims' which portrayed the Prophet Muhammad as a sexual Deviant and a fool. Several people linked to the production including actor had received threats for be included in such a disgusting production. Two actors are suing Google, Gaylord Flynn an actor in the production is also suing the Producer, Nakoula Basseley Nakoula.

- Google had refused to block access to the movie, even though a ninth US circuit court of appeals panel last February ordered it taken off Google’s video-sharing website, YouTube.

- A movie trailer called Innocence of Muslims that mocked the Prophet Muhammad and led to riots in 2012.

The company is demanding a rehearing from the full appeals court.

The production is sickening and should be taken of YouTube and everyone included in the production should be punished as the production is obviously a hate crime. As a muslim i understand how hurtful such things could be and why death threats were sent to the actors, although wrong. In my opinion Google should be sued to the full extent of the law for refusing to remove an obvious hate crime from YouTube even though actor that share a copyright over their work demanded for it to be removed, however they didn't want it to be removed for the right reason of it being disrespectful they want it removed to stop any threats that they are receiving

Motorola Moto 360 review: beautiful smartwatch spoiled by poor battery life

The article is a review on the Motorola Moto 360, the article focuses on the description of the watch in terms of style and general description on size and colour also the function of the watch comparing it to other smart watches like the LG G Watch the author Samuel Gibbs also focuses on the ergonomics of the watch. Samuel Gibbs writes about the size and pros and cons of the watch.

- By way of comparison the Samsung Gear Live weighs 59g and the LG G Watch 63g.
- The Moto 360 but battery life that cannot see you through a full day’s use.
At £200 the Motorola Moto 360 is currently the most expensive Android Wear smartwatch.

In my opinion the watches aesthetics are great, cleverly and well design to blend in with clothing as a normal watch however the functions of the watch are too limited unlike the Apple watch where numerous amount of app are accessible although the watch aesthetics aren't as cleverly designed as this watch.

Five reasons why the Apple Watch won’t take off

the article is a review of the apple watch and the useless aspects of the watch saying that like the ipad, "it's a thing but does it have a use", the author Paul armstrong points out five things wrong with the product in paragraphs being the notification system, the amount of apps in the Watch, the third talking about the designer placing form infront of function, the need of an iphone for it to work and the actual design of the product

the Moto 360 is a more usful product than the Apple Watch

The watch needs an iPhone to work

There is too much packed in, with no real use

the watch is too packed with apps and gadget that aren't needed like the the music app on the phone is ergonomically a disaster as if the user was to use head phone s while walking it will continuously fall out.

Jihad in a social media age: how can the west win an online war?

the Article focuses on the ISISs use of twitter and social media to put across a point and their personal views on the US government and the announcements from the ISIS they look at the profile of the ISIS members and supporters such as Nasser Balochi, a Sunni Muslim and one of a proliferating army of tweeters doubling as online recruiting sergeants for the intensifying conflicts in Syria and Iraq.

 - Hundreds of jihadists currently fighting in the Middle East are believed to follow the Twitter account of Nasser Balochi,

 - In total, 18,223 unique users – those who followed foreign fighters and in turn were followed – were analysed

 - A social media operator whose popularity has swollen in tandem with the territorial expansion of Isis, from 4,700 to 11,900 followers since April.

My personal view on the the story is that the american government is to blame as for the most part the soldiers of the ISIS are american soldiers that have been trained and have then joined terrorist groups, America are now cleaning their own mess that they have created by training violent untrustworthy soldiers. However, the ISIS members are also to blame for the innocent killing of civilians and shouldn't claim to be Muslim as it give them a bad reputation.

Naked celebrity photo leak: what are the victims’ rights?

A list Celebrities Apple Cloud accounts have apparently been hacked and  hundreds of nude images of them have been released over the internet on a live forum called reddit.com  these images consisted of the likes of Jennifer Lawrence, Kate Upton and Victoria Justice among others and since an FBI investigation has been on going.

- If the leak was Apples fault they could be fined hundreds of thousands of Dollars/Pounds by the ICO

 - The hacker, the cloud provider, the data and the victim may all be in different countries (and subject to different laws)

- The victim must demonstrate that the photograph was confidential in nature. This may be harder than initially thought, especially if the victim has previously appeared nude.

The Leaked nudes are a attack on privacy is a sick and shameful act on part of the hacker and should be taken to court and prosecuted or fined as well as any publisher of the image. Apple should suggest to users to not answer any security questions truthfully as the hacker was able to get through to the account because they know what the celebrities hometown is or what the name of their pet, However, it's Jennifer Lawrence so he also should be congratulated. To some a thief to other a living legend.
